DPOY Edge, Week 5 Value

Nick Bosa

Nick Bosa

Darren Yamashita-USA TODAY Sports

On the latest episode of Bet the Edge, Jay Croucher and Drew Dinsick briefly look into the future where they see a woefully mispriced number in the Defensive Player of the Year market regarding San Francisco 49ers’ DE Nick Bosa. Jay believes Bosa (+650) should be closer to Micah Parsons (+275) given the current status of overall stats, as well as the favorable next couple games for San Francisco.

Bet the Edge discusses the movement on the Seattle Seahawks and New Orleans Saints (-5.5) after the latter is traveling back from London. Drew does not seem convinced that the recent steam on the Saints is warranted, so he ultimately believes the Seahawks are the correct side as the spread is nearing a full touchdown. Jay is looking at the Detroit Lions and New England Patriots (-3). He is intrigued by the prospect of New England likely starting rookie QB Bailey Zappe in place of an injured Mac Jones against the NFL’s worst defense in the Lions. The pair check in on the Miami Dolphins (-3.5) at the New York Jets. Neither are deterred from the fact that Teddy Bridgewater will get the nod because of his stellar play in Week 4 against the Cincinnati Bengals. With Tyreek Hill running roughshod over defenses, they blueprint that involving him even more will be the key to the win and cover.

Bet the Edge will highlighting several more pivotal matchups throughout the week!
