Prior to the season, the majority if not all of America would have pegged this weekend’s matchup on Sunday Night Football between Green Bay and Buffalo as a realistic preview of Super Bowl LVII. Aaron Rodgers and Josh Allen, two of the elite quarterbacks in the nation, facing off against superior defenses. These two teams were expected to offer us a taste here in Week 8 of what their match-up on the ultimate stage would look like. Buffalo has held up their end of the bargain. The Packers on the other hand…not so much.

The transmission is loose at best and Green Bay is tasked with getting things right against one of the NFL’s elite teams. Let’s start with the good. One of the more consistent facets of the Green Bay offense has been their rushing attack. It has been better than the league average (4.6 yards per carry). However, the Bills’ rushing defense has been the best in the league allowing just 3.1 yards per carry.

Now let’s look at the less than good. The Packers’ passing game has been the primary issue. Rodgers averages just 6.6 yards per attempt. That number ranks in the bottom third of the league. A combination in Buffalo of a consistent pass rush and strong play on the outside has limited Bills’ opponents to a paltry six yards per pass attempt (7th in the NFL).

Could this be a get right game for the Packers? Yes. Is that likely? No. The deck is stacked against a Green Bay renaissance this weekend. BetMGM has listed the Buffalo Bills as a double-digit favorite.

Green Bay Packers (+375) @ Buffalo Bills (-500)

Line: Bills -10.5 (-110)

Over / Under: 47.0 (-110)

Keep those numbers in mind while we take a deeper dive into the market and find some attractive player props. NBC Sports Fantasy and Betting analyst Matthew Berry offers us the following parlay with BetMGM joining the fun adding a boost:

Josh Allen 250+ Passing Yards

The Bills’ leader has eclipsed this number in five of six games for Buffalo this season. On what is expected to be a crisp but calm, dry October night in Orchard Park, it would be surprising if the Buffalo QB failed to soar past the 250-yard mark.

Josh Allen 2+ Passing TDs

Just as with his passing yards, Allen has thrown for two or more touchdowns each week other than Week 4 against the Ravens (213 yards passing with 1 TD). His receivers have insatiable appetites. With the re-emergence of Gabe Davis – 245 yards receiving with 3 TDs the last two weeks - there are just too many weapons for the Packers to defend. You are lying to yourself if you believe the MVP Favorite (+125) is not going to throw at least a couple touchdown passes tonight on NBC.

Devin Singletary 60+ Yards Rushing and Receiving

Singletary has surpassed the 60-yard mark in four of six games this season and most recently in three of the past four outings. When defending any multi-faceted offense, Green Bay must decide where to expend most of their energy. They must mount a pass rush. If they succeed, look for Allen to look even more frequently for the short swing pass to his running backs. If Green Bay fails, the Bills’ ground attack could be out in full force as early as the middle of the third quarter. The featured back should be Singletary in either scenario.

If you want to ride with Matthew Berry, know that BetMGM is sweating it with you. Play them individually or parlay the three and beginning Sunday at 12P Eastern, BetMGM will be boosting the parlay from +155 to +190.

Have a great weekend.
