We are days away from Super Bowl LVII featuring Andy Reid‘s old club, the Philadelphia Eagles, and Andy Reid‘s current club, the Kansas City Chiefs. Lets check in with BetMGM and discover what markets are attracting bettors.

“Currently, the Chiefs winning would be the best outcome for the sportsbook. That could change as a majority of action on the Super Bowl will come in this weekend.”

– Christian Cipollini, Sports Trader, BetMGM

Kansas City Chiefs (+105) vs. Philadelphia Eagles (-125)

Spread: Eagles -1.5 Total: 50.5

Sunday, February 12, 2023 Kick-Off: 6:30P ET on FOX

Site: State Farm Stadium in Glendale, AZ

The line and total have remained steady for the better part of the last week. BetMGM is reporting 58% of the ticket count is on Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs but 55% of the handle is on Jalen Hurts and the Eagles including a $1,000,000 on Philadelphia on the ML.

Most Popular Player Props

The player props seeing the most action include:

  • Travis Kelce to score the 1st Touchdown (+650)
  • Travis Kelce to score an Anytime Touchdown (-125)
  • The Result of the Coin Toss: Tails (-105)
  • The Eagles winning by the exact score of 37-34 (+8000)
  • Miles Sanders Over 59.5 rushing yards (-115)

The Coin Toss for Super Bowl LVII

For all the “genius” involved in game breakdowns and analysis of this Super Bowl, take special note that the Coin Toss is one of the Top 5 most popular prop bets and specifically the call of tails. 55% of the handle and 51% of the tickets are on “tails”. Bettors are leaning to the favored Philadelphia Eagles even when it comes to said toss. 59% of the handle and 52% of tickets are in favor of Philly on the flip. As an aside, the last eight winners of the coin toss have lost the Super Bowl.

Super Bowl LVII MVP

It should surprise no one that the two favorite to win MVP of the Super Bowl are the two quarterbacks Jalen Hurts (+135) and Patrick Mahomes (+135). More of the public is betting on Mahomes (10.9%) than Hurts (10.4%) but Travis Kelce (+1100) with 10.8% of the ticket count is actually the second most popular bet to claim the MVP. 38% of the handle is on one of the two signal callers to be declared the game’s Most Valuable Player.

The MVP is traditionally given to the quarterback of the winning team (31 times), but it is worth noting that a non-quarterback has won two of the last four years (Julian Edelman in Super Bowl LIII and Cooper Kupp in Super Bowl LVI). The books would not be smiling if someone other than a quarterback claimed the MVP especially if the winner is Travis Kelce, Haason Reddick, or Miles Sanders.

The Super Bowl Gatorade Shower

Yes, you can even bet on the color of the Gatorade that will soak the winning head coach as Super Bowl LVII concludes. Here is the list of candidates and how the public is backing each horse (of a different color):

The last time the Eagles won the Super Bowl was the last time Green Gatorade appeared in the Big Game. The last two years, however, Blue has been the color dousing the winning coach.

There is still plenty of time to decide what to wager on but remember if you decide to bet to do so within your means. Have fun with it and enjoy the sweat!
