Last week’s teaser came through on the Bears and Raiders, so obviously we need to fire another one this weekend. Those are the rules.
If you’re new around here, a teaser is a bet that allows you to adjust the point spread six points whichever way you choose. You must select a minimum of two bets, but you have to win all the bets in the teaser to cash the ticket.
While some people like to maximize their payout and do four or five-team teasers, your chances of winning get increasingly more difficult with every extra team you add. I’ll stick with the standard two-teamer and tease through the most important numbers in football – 3 and 7.[[ad:athena]]
I really love this spot for the Los Angeles Rams this weekend. Their offense was just a little off last week against the Giants in a very sluggish afternoon game. The Rams fumbled the ball twice and Jared Goff had receivers drop a couple passes that could’ve been touchdowns. I imagine they will iron everything out this weekend against a Washington team that can’t stop a nose bleed.
Football Team has been dreadful on defense, they’re missing tackles all over the field and they break but don’t bend. Yes, you read that right. They just love to give up big plays and points. In their last three games, Washington allowed 30 points to Arizona, 34 to Cleveland and 31 to Baltimore. Woof.
But fundamentally, I hate laying a touchdown on the road. So let’s tease!
Give me the Rams and let’s go from -7 through the 6, 4, and 3 down to -1. Just win baby. I would be stunned if Los Angeles lost outright. I’m thinking Sean McVay has something special up his sleeve for Washington, where he spent six years as an assistant coach and offensive coordinator. The Rams receivers will run wild all afternoon and L.A. should win this game rather easily.
For the other leg, I’m rolling with Teddy Covers. Carolina’s Teddy Bridgewater is an insane 18-and-4 against the spread as a starting quarterback. I repeat, 18-and-4. This line has seen some serious money on the Panthers side as the Falcons opened -3.5 and some sportsbooks are all the way down to Falcons -1. The consensus number right now is -1.5.
Professional bettors will be very proud of me here. Let’s kick the Panthers spread up from +1.5 through the 3, 4, 6, and 7 all the way to +7.5. That’s a ton of wiggle room against a really bad football team. And we get to bet against Dan Quinn!
Let’s go.
Tease the Rams -1 to the Panthers +7.5.
