Two days ago, the Tennessee Titans were a two-point home favorite for Thursday night’s tilt against the Indianapolis Colts.
Despite way more tickets on Tennessee, bookmakers have flipped Indianapolis to the favorite. It’s another example of reverse line movement – the point spread is moving away from the team that’s drawing more interest in the market.
PointsBet Sportsbook is currently dealing the Colts -1 with a total of 48.5.
“The smarter money is favoring the Colts,” PointsBet senior sports analyst Andrew Mannino told NBC Sports. “The vast majority of the bets we’re seeing are coming in on the Titans. They’re holding about 71 percent of the tickets right now. The money is pretty evenly split. More conviction is being shown on Indianapolis bets thought. And we’ve got about 52 percent of the total bets and 61 percent of the money on the Over."[[ad:athena]]
So who does the house need?
“We’re pulling for Indianapolis,” Mannino said.
Meanwhile, the Miami Dolphins (6-2 ATS) have transformed from the top secret underdog to the popular favorite. They’re a two-point home chalk this Sunday against the L.A. Chargers. It’s only the second time all season that the Fish have been favored.
“They’ve been quietly taking care of business while you’ve been looking the other way,” Mannino explained. “There hasn’t been a ton of attention on them, but they keep winning games. They’re past the halfway mark and rolling towards the playoffs. You’ve got to like where you’re at if you’ve been on the Dolphins.”
Finally, I asked Mannino how badly the book will be rooting for New England on Sunday Night Football against Baltimore. The Ravens are a 7-point favorite in Foxboro. Early reports around the country show ticket counts in the 80 to 90 percent range for the Baltimore side.
“We’re going to need a Brady-like performance out of Cam.”
