Sunday Prop Shop: Week 7

Patrick Mahomes

Patrick Mahomes

Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

Welcome to the Sunday Prop Shop.

Every weekend, we’ll dive inside the thousands of NFL props from our friends over at PointsBet Sportsbook. Please scale back your bet size on props, because a lot of these picks will be longer shots to win. I like to bet a little to win a lot with props. If you bet 100 dollars a game, go with 10 or 20 bucks a prop.

Let’s go.[[ad:athena]]

$20 Russell Wilson and Patrick Mahomes to score 6+ touchdowns (+140)

This is one of PointsBet’s time bomb boosters this weekend. The true odds on this bet are closer to even money or +110, but we get +140. Not too shabby. Wilson and the Seahawks are expected to be in a shootout against Arizona. The total in Seattle-Arizona is 56 points on Sunday Night Football and that might not be high enough. Between throwing and running, Wilson could realistically score four touchdowns alone. That leaves two for Mahomes, the best player in the universe. Denver usually plays Mahomes well, but it’s not like they’re going to keep him off the board.

$15 Patriots Over 2.5 touchdowns against 49ers (-112)

I’m super bullish on the Patriots this week. Full disclosure, I laid the wood with them last week against Denver and paid for it. Sometimes you just have to go back to the well. New England’s erratic offense is due against a San Francisco squad riding high off a Sunday Night upset. Bill Belichick knows Jimmy Garoppolo inside-and-out, which should set the Pats up with a few short fields. A pick six would definitely work too. I’ve got this one 28-17 Patriots, so that’s four touchdowns.

$10 JuJu Smith-Schuster to score game’s first touchdown (+1150)

Love me some first touchdown bets. We hit one of these two weeks ago with Dalvin Cook at +600. It’s hard to explain the premonition I have of JuJu streaking down the field and catching a bomb from Big Ben in the first quarter. It feels right. Tennessee faces their first real test of the season with a mean Steelers Defense rolling into Nashville. I think the Titans’ offense struggles out of the gate. Taylor Lewan‘s absence is a big deal for the Titans run game.
