We are down to the final three UEFA Champions League matches. Both Premier League teams were able to defend their home field successfully and win leg one. The second legs of European action are always tricky. I try not to overexpose, especially when a team has a multi-goal lead. Unfortunately, I will pay a premium on this bet for Tuesday’s action, but I feel it should honestly be priced a bit higher. The action that has my attention can be found on PointsBet Sportsbook.
Villarreal vs Liverpool (Tuesday, 3 p.m. ET)
Three-way Moneyline: Villarreal (+360) | Draw (+290) | Liverpool (-145)
Jurgen Klopp has been very adamant in saying he will not go to Villarreal and let the Yellow Submarine fans take over the game. He knows that if Liverpool allow the first shot on goal, the crowd will go crazy, giving Villarreal life. He mentioned that Villarreal are going to give them more than they offered in the first game. It was clear that Unai Emery wanted his squad to play safe and try to take the game from Liverpool when they play in Estadio de la Ceramica.

The bet I am backing is Liverpool team total over 1.5 goals (-160). Klopp has seen how clinical Villarreal in the home leg of their European fixture too many times. He will look to score the first goal of the game. This will open Villarreal up more and make them susceptible to counters. There aren’t many teams better at countering than Liverpool.
Even on the road, domestically, Liverpool are the highest-scoring team. They are averaging 2.53 goals per game with an xG of 2.43. They were able to rest Mohamed Salah, ThIago, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Ibrahima Konate.
Villarreal will look to hold possession, but that won’t be easy against Liverpool even at home. If Villarreal want to get back into this tie, they have to open up. I am trusting Liverpool to get it done.
