It will take two days for the quarterfinal draw to be complete at the 2022 U.S. Open. It began with a handful of matches Sunday. The most anticipated was the showdown between Daniil Medvedev and Nick Kyrgios. It did not disappoint. The 23rd seed and Wimbledon Finalist took down Medvedev in four sets. He will next face Karen Khachanov early Tuesday afternoon. The first men’s match Tuesday will feature Matteo Berrettini and Casper Ruud with Berrettini (-105) the slightest of favorites against Ruud (-120).

The women’s draw Sunday saw Coco Gauff and Caroline Garcia advance in straight sets. As a result, Gauff (+120) and Garcia (-160) will meet Tuesday for a birth in the semifinals.

Labor Day features a full slate of matches as the quarterfinal draw is finalized. Monday’s early men’s matches include Cam Norrie (-160) taking on Andrey Rublev (+130) and Frances Tiafoe (+400) stepping onto the court as a sizable underdog to Rafael Nadal (-550). On the women’s side Jessica Pegula (-125) is favored against Petra Kvitova (+105) and top-seeded Iga Swiateka (-700) against Julie Niemeier (+475).

As we continue our march into the second week of the fortnight, NBC Sports EDGE Analysts Drew Dinsick (@whale_capper) and Kenny Ducey (@KennyDucey) continue to offer bettors their top plays each day: The Daily Deuce.

Day 7 results were mixed. Nick Kyrgios’ victory cashed our bet that he would win at least two sets, but Ajla Tomljanovic defeated arguably the hottest player on the women’s circuit, Liudmila Samsonova in straight sets. Samsonova entered the Open having won more consecutive matches this summer than anyone. Couple that with the fact Tomljanovic was coming off that physically, mentally, and emotionally draining match against Serena Williams and the victory over Samsonova is all the more impressive. The overall record of The Daily Deuce at The U.S. Open is 7-6.
