The Paris Masters are over, and that means the tennis season is winding down this week in Stockholm and in Milan. Tuesday features a loaded card which will take up almost the entire day, and I see several opportunities to profit. I’ll get to a couple of them now.
Daniel Evans (-115) vs. Alejandro Davidovich-Fokina (-112)
Dan Evans has improved greatly since his mid-season slump. He picked up some nice wins at the US Open before a groin injury and Daniil Medvedev blocked his path there, and after that he lost to three of the best players on tour right now in Cam Norrie, Diego Schwartzman, and Carlos Alcaraz.
His loss to Alexander Bublik was a tough one to stomach, but it was a three-setter and it went down to the wire. It was Bublik’s huge serve that was able to make the difference there.
Evans faces a player in Davidovich-Fokina that has been playing some bad tennis over the last few months and is unrecognizable at the moment. I think Evans should finally be able to get a win here as one of the better players on tour up break point. Davidovich-Fokina was able to save 11 of 12 against Mackenzie McDonald and shouldn’t be as fortunate here.
Edge: Evans -115

Marton Fucsovics (-132) vs. Botic Van De Zandschulp (+103)
Fucsovics has been lethal indoors over the course of his career and has put together some masterful performances on clay, so a slow indoor hardcourt has the makings of a perfect surface for the tall Hungarian.

Van De Zandschulp has had a great year, which included a dream run at the US Open, but since then it’s been a mixed bag. He had some nice wins in St. Petersburg, but his win over Andrey Rublev doesn’t look quite as good with the tailspin the Russian has been in.
He struggled to get past Nino Serdarusic on Tuesday and won’t have it quite as easy against an in-form Fucsovics.
Edge: Fucsovics -132
