Brandon McGowan left Sunday’s game in the second quarter with an arm injury.
He did not return and reportedly had his right arm in a sling afterward.

Coach Lovie Smith said Monday that Brandon McGowan is day-to-day after suffering a sprained right elbow in Week 7.
“We don’t know exactly how serious the injury is,” Smith said. Losing McGowan would leave the Bears very thin at safety.

Chicagobears.com speculates that WR Mark Bradley, DE Alex Brown and S Brandon McGowan could be in line for more action in the second half of the year.
Bradley, a 2005 second-round pick by the Bears, has been buried on the depth chart since tearing his ACL in 2005 and has only two receptions on the season. Brown, who was once the Bears starting RDE, picked up second sack in three games in Week 8. McGowan, who has a sprained right elbow, is currently backing up FS Danieal Manning.

Nathan Vasher (groin) did not return to practice on Wednesday.
Vasher, who has said he wants a full week of practice and conditioning before playing, will likely miss his seventh game. S Brandon McGowan did return to limited practice after missing two games with an elbow injury.

The Bears are expected to bench SS Adam Archuleta on Sunday.
Brandon McGowan is expected to start in his place. Archuleta has been struggling in the same areas this season that he did in Washington, which is a surprise because coach Lovie Smith was supposed to have a better idea of his strengths and weaknesses. McGowan is a solid pickup in IDP leagues.

The Bears are expected to extend S Brandon McGowan a restricted free agent tender.
McGowan, a former undrafted player, ended 2007 as a starter because Adam Archuleta wasn’t cutting it. He made 68 tackles, two interceptions, forced a fumble, and broke up three passes. The low tender this year is $927,000, but McGowan will at least get the $1.427 million second-round tag.
