Rams tendered exclusive rights free agents QB Tom Brandstater, DT Jermelle Cudjo, WR Dominique Curry, OG Bryan Mattison, FB Brit Miller, and SS Darian Stewart.
Of the six ERFAs tendered, Stewart saw the most action last season, though he struggled mightily in pass coverage as the Rams’ starting strong safety. These players will be brought to Rams camp, all competing for roster spots.

    Rams re-signed FB Brit Miller.
Steven Jackson’s lead blocker each of the past two seasons, Miller missed the final four games of 2011 after landing on injured reserve with an unspecified knee injury. He tore his ACL in 2010. Miller’s health history makes it unlikely the Rams will enter camp with just one fullback.

Rams placed FB Brit Miller on injured reserve with a knee injury, ending his season.
Bad news for a player who ended 2010 on injured reserve with a torn ACL. Steven Jackson’s lead blocker had been active for 12 of 13 games this season, carrying the ball five times for 14 yards. Although he’s still just 25 years old, two major knee injuries in two seasons don’t bode well for Miller’s future.
  • FA Running Back #30
Rams signed FB Ovie Mughelli, formerly of the Falcons.
Mughelli visited the Rams in May after being released by Atlanta. A classic lead blocker, Mughelli’s signing further signals the Rams’ transition to a more run-oriented attack under Jeff Fisher. Placed on injured reserve with a torn MCL last October, Mughelli will compete with Brit Miller, who also ended 2011 on IR with a knee injury.
  • FA Running Back #49
    Rams waived FB Brit Miller.
Miller goes to make room for C Scott Wells, who was activated from injured reserve this week. The Rams will apparently go with Terrance Ganaway as the new lead blocker.
  • FA Running Back #49
49ers activated FB Brit Miller from the practice squad.
Not to be confused with the female bodybuilder, this Brit Miller was an undrafted free agent out of Illinois. He’ll be limited to special teams duty with the Niners.

    49ers waived FB Brit Miller.
Miller was active for five games last season as a special teamer. His chances of making the roster took a hit early in camp when he sustained a sprained ankle.
  • LA Tight End
Rams TE Darcy Johnson was sent home Monday because his concussion symptoms still persisted.
Fullback Brit Miller is expected to be signed off the practice squad, which could be an indication that Johnson will miss time. With Michael Hoomanawanui and Billy Bajema due back in Week 6, Johnson isn’t needed anymore, anyway.
