Rams promoted QB Tom Brandstater from the practice squad.
With Sam Bradford out for Week 7, Brandstater will serve as A.J. Feeley’s backup against the Cowboys. Brandstater was a sixth-round pick of the Broncos in 2009, so he should be familiar with OC Josh McDaniels’ system. Interestingly, he went through training camp as a Cowboy this season.

Rams tendered exclusive rights free agents QB Tom Brandstater, DT Jermelle Cudjo, WR Dominique Curry, OG Bryan Mattison, FB Brit Miller, and SS Darian Stewart.
Of the six ERFAs tendered, Stewart saw the most action last season, though he struggled mightily in pass coverage as the Rams’ starting strong safety. These players will be brought to Rams camp, all competing for roster spots.

Rams signed exclusive rights free agent QB Tom Brandstater to a one-year contract.
Brandstater is currently behind Sam Bradford on the depth chart, but he’ll have to battle just to hold down the No. 3 job by the time training camp rolls around. The Rams showed no faith in Brandstater last season, signing Kellen Clemens off the street to make emergency late-season starts instead.
  • FA Quarterback #5
    Rams waived QB Tom Brandstater.
The move was made to clear space on the roster for Mark Clayton, and is a sign the Rams are no longer concerned about Sam Bradford’s high-ankle sprain. Waived by three teams since August, Brandstater is running out of NFL chances.

Rams promoted QB Tom Brandstater from the practice squad.
The strongest sign yet that Sam Bradford’s ankle injury is going to hold him out against the 49ers. Briefly on the Rams’ active roster earlier this season, Brandstater has yet to appear in an NFL game since being a sixth-round pick of the Broncos in 2009.
  • FA Quarterback
Rams OC Josh McDaniels believes Kellen Clemens is capable of getting up to speed enough before Monday night’s game to at least run the offense even if it’s a pared-down version.
If Sam Bradford (ankle) is unable to go, Tom Brandstater will make his first career start, but could be on a short leash with Clemens reportedly turning in a good week. Bradford practiced on a limited basis Saturday and is officially listed as questionable for Week 14.

Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo was “thoroughly impressed” with waivers acquisition Kellen Clemens’ practice on Friday.
Clemens was apparently able to step into the huddle and "(rattle) off the terminology” as he split first-team reps with Tom Brandstater. Brandstater remains the favorite to start Monday if both Sam Bradford (ankle) and A.J. Feeley (thumb) are out, but the Rams’ refusal to officially rule out Bradford and Spagnuolo’s praise of Clemens suggest Brandstater will be on a very short leash.
  • The Rams are hopeful LT Mark LeVoir (pectoral) will return for Monday’s game against the Seahawks.
LeVoir practiced in full on Friday, so it looks like he’s on track to start Monday. He’ll likely line up across from Seahawks DE Chris Clemons, who had three sacks and two forced fumbles after LeVoir went down in Week 11. Expected to start in place of Sam Bradford, Tom Brandstater will need all the time he can get.

Sam Bradford (ankle) was able to get in some “light work” at Rams practice Saturday, and is officially questionable for Week 14.
They were his first reps of the week. According to the Rams’ official Twitter account, “all sides” remain hopeful Bradford will start against the Seahawks on Monday Night Football. He appears to be a true game-time decision. If Bradford can’t go, Tom Brandstater is expected to make his first career start, but could be on a short leash with Kellen Clemens reportedly turning in a good week of practice.

Rams QBs Sam Bradford (ankle) and A.J. Feeley (thumb) sat out practice again on Thursday.
Bradford is still hoping to play at some point, avoiding I.R. Newly acquired Kellen Clemens has yet to practice as well. For the second straight day, Tom Brandstater took all of the practice reps, putting him on pace to start against the Seahawks. Seattle’s D/ST is shaping up as one of the better fantasy plays of the week.
