Jets signed QB Marques Tuiasosopo to a one-year contract.
This could mean Joey Harrington is headed to Carolina. Tuiasosopo, 28, is expected to challenge 2006 second-round pick Kellen Clemens to back up Chad Pennington. Look for Clemens to win that competition.

Rookie quarterback Kellen Clemens led the Jets’ first-team offense in training camp Sunday.
Clemens reportedly struggled in team drills. The Jets are expected to rotate their four QBs throughout camp.

Rookie second-round QB Kellen Clemens lined up with the Jets first team offense at Jets minicamp Thursday.
While Chad Pennington said the four Jets quarterbacks are on a strict rotation and it happened to be Clemens’ turn, we don’t think coach Eric Mangini did this by accident. While it would be surprising if Clemens was New York’s Week 1 starter, this is a sign he’s going to get a fair chance at the job.
  • FA Quarterback
Kellen Clemens completed 3-of-11 passes for 24 yards and an interception backing up Chad Pennington Friday.
It looks like Clemens entered the night as New York’s backup. Clemens has a bright future, but coach Eric Mangini may consider keeping the competition going for another week after this performance.
  • FA Quarterback
Rams re-signed QB Kellen Clemens to a one-year contract.
Pulled off the scrap heap in early December, Clemens completed 52.7 percent of his passes at 6.0 yards per for a 73.8 passer rating in a trio of late-season starts. Working in his favor, he played under new OC Brian Schottenheimer with the Jets. If he sticks as the No. 2 quarterback, the Rams will have one of the most worrisome backup situations in the league.
  • FA Quarterback
Kellen Clemens could complete just 9-of-24 passes for 91 yards in St. Louis’ Week 16 loss to the Steelers.
After turning in a surprisingly effective start against the Bengals in Week 15, Clemens came unglued against the Steelers’ elite defense, hurrying throws while displaying zero touch. The performance was bad enough that it’s possible St. Louis may elect to see what it has in Tom Brandstater next weekend if Sam Bradford sits out for the third straight game. Clemens is going to have a hard time earning a backup job in 2012.

Sam Bradford (ankle) and A.J. Feeley (thumb) were held out of practice again on Thursday.
Coach Steve Spagnuolo concedes that Bradford will not test his ankle this week and is “doubtful” for Saturday’s game at Pittsburgh. Kellen Clemens will start again in a horrific matchup.
  • FA Quarterback
Rams QBs Sam Bradford (ankle) and A.J. Feeley (thumb) missed practice again on Thursday.
Bradford is back in a walking boot after suffering another setback. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch believes it’s “looking more and more like” Kellen Clemens will start against the Bengals in Week 15. Pick up Cincinnati’s D/ST if available.
  • FA Quarterback
Kellen Clemens completed 25-of-36 passes for 229 yards and a touchdown in St. Louis’ Week 15 loss to the Bengals.
As the third Rams quarterback to start a game this season, Clemens also became the third to find himself constantly harassed behind a pathetic offensive line, rarely having time to set his feet. For being acquired only 11 days ago, however, he played well, doing damage on the run as he routinely stuck quick, short throws. With Sam Bradford expected to be shut down for the season, Clemens is worth a flier in two-QB leagues if you’re absolutely desperate.
  • FA Quarterback
Kellen Clemens will likely be the Rams’ starting quarterback in Sunday’s game against the Bengals.
Sam Bradford (ankle) is doubtful and A.J. Feeley (thumb) is out. In his career, Clemens has completed 147-of-284 passes (51.8 percent) for 1,686 yards (5.9 YPA), five touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. He’s always had very poor pocket presence and accuracy, and will be squaring off with a Bengals defense that ranks sixth in the league in sacks. Downgrade the rest of the Rams’ skill position players and upgrade Cincinnati’s fantasy defense.
