Vikings signed WR/KR Bryan Walters, formerly of the Chargers.
Walters, 24, went undrafted out of Cornell in 2010. He worked on the Chargers’ scout team last season, specifically practicing the Tim Tebow role during Broncos week. Walters will be stretched to make the roster in Minnesota.
  • CAR Linebacker #50
Chargers waived DE/OLB Everette Brown, WR Bryan Walters, and ILB Nate Triplett.
Brown has a second-round pedigree from 2009, but he played fewer than 30 defensive snaps last season. Walters was kept on the roster over Laurent Robinson coming out of training camp last summer.
  • FA Wide Receiver #81
    Chargers waived KR/WR Bryan Walters.
Walters was impressive in preseason action, but couldn’t get on the field through six games. He should clear waivers and head to the practice squad.
  • FA Wide Receiver #81
Chargers promoted WR Bryan Walters from their practice squad.
Malcom Floyd (hip) has been ruled out for Week 12, so Walters adds depth at wide receiver after spending the week pretending to be Tim Tebow on the Chargers’ scout team. Walters is a former undrafted free agent from Cornell.
  • FA Wide Receiver #81
    Chargers waived KR/WR Bryan Walters.
Primarily a special teamer, Walters has hauled in three catches for 27 yards this season. He should be signed to the Chargers’ practice squad as long as he clears waivers.
  • JAX Wide Receiver #15
Stephen Burton “appears to be the front-runner” for the Vikings’ fifth receiver spot.
Fourth-rounder Jarius Wright is likely locked in, and Michael Jenkins’ salary cut gives him a better chance to stick. Burton’s primary competition could be former CFL star Emmanuel Arcenaux, who has improved more than any player WRs coach George Stewart has coached in 25 years. Kerry Taylor and Bryan Walters are also in the mix. Burton could end up starting for the suspended Jerome Simpson in Week 1 if he makes the team.
  • FA Wide Receiver #86
Patrick Crayton (ankle) has resumed practicing in full.
Crayton is on track to resume slot duties against the Patriots, sending Bryan Walters back to the bench. Crayton won’t carry fantasy value as the fourth or fifth option in the passing game.
  • FA Wide Receiver #86
Coach Norv Turner hinted that Patrick Crayton will be active in Week 3 regardless of Malcom Floyd’s (groin) status.
With Floyd in doubt for Sunday’s game against the Chiefs, it’s possible Crayton will see significant snaps. But he’s not completely over the scope on his ankle and expectations should be kept very low. Crayton would rotate with the likes of Bryan Walters, Vincent Brown, and Richard Goodman.
  • FA Wide Receiver #81
Seahawks promoted WR Bryan Walters from the practice squad.
He’s taking the suspended Brandon Browner’s roster spot. Walters will contribute on special teams.
  • FA Wide Receiver #81
Bryan Walters caught 4-of-4 targets for 31 yards and a touchdown in the Jaguars’ Week 14 loss to the Vikings.
Walters has been filling in for Allen Hurns (hamstring) as the Jaguars’ slot receiver. Walters’ touchdown against the Vikings came from 14 yards out. Walters will return to special teams whenever Hurns’ hamstring heals.
