Davis was selected 21st overall in the 2023 MLB Draft and figures to move quickly through the Cardinals’ system. The 23-year-old outfielder posted a robust .766 OPS with 12 homers and nine steals in 112 games last year across three-minor league levels to finish the year at Double-A Springfield.

Davis will earn a signing bonus of $6.3 million, which is slightly under the $6.375 million slot value for the 21st overall selection in the draft. The 21-year-old slugger has elite plate discipline and growing power and will immediately become one of the top prospects in the Cardinals’ organization.

Davis has rocketed up draft boards over the last few months, thanks to a 21-homer campaign for Arizona. He traded in some of his elite plate discipline to tap into some additional over-the-fence power, which resulted in a huge power surge. He’s the type of skilled all-around slugger with very few weaknesses at this point in his development and could find himself on the fast track to the majors. He’s posted some of the strongest batted-ball data of any prospect in the draft class and could wind up making a significant impact for fantasy managers in the near future.
