Louisiana redshirt junior LB Chauncey Manac is going through pre-game warmups and may be able to play in Wednesday night’s game against Appalachian State, per Tim Buckley of The Daily Advertiser.
Manac (6'3/252) missed the previous few contests trying to recover from a back injury. Over the past few weeks, Manac has gone through limited and “modified” practice routines, and it was unclear whether he would be ready for tonight’s game. It’s still unclear if Manac will play, but that he is going through warmups is a very encouraging sign.
  • Four-star DE Chauncey Manac committed to Georgia in September.
Manac committed with Mark Richt still on board as head coach. The Homerville, Georgia, native has stuck by his word even with Richt out of the picture. Scout.com notes that the 6-foot-3, 245-pound lineman “could get a look as a stand-up linebacker due to his size, athleticism, and speed on the field.” They rank him at No. 151 in the country and caution that, as larger offensive linemen can sometimes swallow the future Bulldog, he needs to continue to work on holding his ground and maintaining leverage.
  • Louisiana redshirt junior LB Chauncey Manac is considered to be day-to-day for Wednesday’s game vs. Appalachian State due to an upper body injury.
Manac (6'3/252) has not appeared in a game since he suffered the injury in Louisiana’s win at Ohio on September 21. The redshirt junior linebacker has taken part in what HC Billy Napier described as a “modified” form of practice, which simply means that he was limited. With Manac sidelined for the Ragin Cajuns’ Sept. 28 win over Georgia Southern, Louisiana went with three linebackers in the starting 11 (Kris Moncrief, Ferrod Gardner and Jacques Boudreaux) as opposed to the four it runs out when he’s healthy.
