Cowboys rookie WR Chris Brown suffered a broken foot in Monday’s practice.
The injury will end his preseason, and it could end his season if the Cowboys decided to stash the rookie on injured reserve. An UDFA out of Notre Dame, Brown could use a year in the weight room to get ready for the physicality of the NFL.

Bengals claimed WR Chris Brown off waivers from the Cowboys.
An undrafted free agent, Brown had a solid training camp before a foot injury ended his rookie year. He spent all of 2016 on IR. Brown should be heathy for the Bengals’ offseason program. He’ll compete for one of the final receiver spots.
  • FA Wide Receiver #88
Cowboys signed Notre Dame WR Chris Brown.
Brown (6'2/194) was a complementary wideout for the Irish, sharing time behind Will Fuller and finishing his career with a 104-1,410-6 receiving line, averaging 13.6 yards per catch. Brown’s calling cards are speed and explosion; he ran 4.47 at Notre Dame’s Pro Day with a springy 10-foot-10 broad jump. Brown’s weaknesses are his lack of physicality and tendency to lose focus, resulting in untimely drops. If Brown carves out an NFL career, it’ll likely be as a sub-package wideout.
