Once Central Michigan fired Ernie Zeigler, common sense dictated that it wouldn’t be long before his best player – his son, Trey – would be gone as well.
Took a week.
The school says the sophomore was granted his release Tuesday morning, meaning the 6-5 guard will be a prime target for schools in need of a big guard who can create his own shot. (Not that Zeigler’s been that efficient at scoring.)
Zeigler tweeted that he’s headed to Duke this weekend for an official visit, while UCLA, one of the schools in play for him out of high school, is interested in him as well (per Neal Nieves).
