    Bears signed WR Devin Duvernay.
Duvernay provides wide receiver depth and will likely compete for a special teams role as a returner. He is not fantasy-relevant. The Bears also signed LS Scott Daly, placed DL Austin Booker on injured reserve with a designation to return, waived LB Carl Jones Jr., signed TE Nikola Kalinic, DB Dontae Manning and S Gervarrius Owens to the practice squad while releasing LS Luke Elkin and DB Mekhi Garner.
  • CHI Cornerback #27
Oregon received a verbal commitment from four-star 2020 DB Dontae Manning.
Manning (6'0"/175) picked Oregon over schools like Georgia, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Oklahoma and others. The 6-foot, 175-pound told ESPN that he’ll be a two-way player for the Ducks, but his future is likely at defensive back while his speed gives him a chance to contribute occasionally on offense and special teams. In the 247Sports composite board, Manning ranks as the 76th player in the class, and sixth best corner.
  • CHI Cornerback #27
Barton Simmons of 247Sports lists four-star 2020 DB Dontae Manning as a player that is inching closer to a five-star ranking.
Manning (6'0/175) is considered one of the best prospects at his position for this class, and the only reason he doesn’t have a five-star ranking right now -- or at least one of the key reasons -- is because 247Sports doesn’t have an in-person evaluation just yet. “He gets rave reviews from college contacts,” writes Simmons, [and] he has verified speed, ball skills and versatility and he has shown physicality on senior tape.” Manning was once a commit to Oklahoma, and while he’s still considering the Sooners, Texas A&M is considered the favorite.

Four-star 2020 DB Dontae Manning has de-committed from Oklahoma.
Manning has been committed to Oklahoma since late April, but the Kansas City native now has a desire to look at other programs before making a final decision. “OU will still remain a top school of mine,” Manning said in a statement released via Twitter. “But I feel the need to explore my options and take a closer look at other Universities.” Since his commitment to Oklahoma, Manning picked up offers from Texas A&M, LSU and Purdue, and he also took an official visit to Texas A&M in mid-June.
  • CHI Cornerback #27
Four-star 2020 DB Dontae Manning announced Sunday that he has verbally committed to Oklahoma.
Manning (6'0/175) made his announcement following an official visit, with the four-star defensive back taking in the Oklahoma spring game. The Kansas City native is the sixth verbal commit in Oklahoma’s 2020 class to date, and he was one of many highly regarded prospects on campus for the program’s spring game. Manning is ranked 12th among cornerbacks in the 2020 class by 247Sports.
