247Sports analyst Blair Angulo writes that UCLA three-star 2019 verbal G commit Duke Clemens is “a smart, tough and physical blocker even if he isn’t the biggest in terms of size yet.”
While Clemens is currently listed at just 6-foot-3, 268-pound, Angulo passes along that he plays both basketball and baseball, part of the reason he has not yet truly begun to bulk up. Look for him to add some healthy playing beef as he transitions his focus more exclusively toward the gridiron. As for a scouting breakdown, Angulo writes that Clemens “has good feet and flashes the lateral quickness needed to stay in front of speed rushers, but he’s also got a nasty streak as a run blocker.” While 247Sports lists the Hawaii native as a guard, he shouldn’t be viewed strictly in the light of that position. Tackle and center are both positions he’s performed at during offseason camps.
