Bowling Green junior defensive lineman Mike Minns is facing a rather serious charge following an incident at an off-campus restaurant, the Toledo Blade reported.
According to the Blade, Minns was arrested after police said the lineman “surreptitiously placed a controlled substance into [a female] victim’s beverage” back in late November. Minns’ actions were reportedly caught on surveillance video.
As a result of the Nov. 22 incident, Minns was charged with corrupting another with drugs. Also as a result, Minns has been suspended by the Falcons.
“Following notification of the charges,” a statement from the school began, “Michael Minns II has been suspended indefinitely from the football program. The university has also begun an investigation through its student conduct process.”
Minns has started 11 of the 12 games in which he’s played this season. After playing in 14 games in 2012 and 2013, he took a redshirt for the 2014 season.
