Brett Hundley named UCLA’s starting quarterback

UCLA decided to go in a new direction last year by hiring Jim Mora to be the head coach. Now, Mora’s doing the same thing at quarterback to begin a new era.

The school announced Friday evening that redshirt freshman Brett Hundley would be the starter behind center over veterans Kevin Prince and Richard Brehaut.

Brehaut and Prince split time last year due to numerous injuries while Hundley redshirted after tearing his meniscus during the summer.

Mora didn’t name a starter this spring, but Hundley (pictured, left) is clearly the best athlete and with the most potential. Starting anew, it’s not surprising Mora went with Hundley.

I worked during the off-season, doing all I could do,” Hundley said earlier this week. “I was in the film room, learning as much as I could, rather than thinking summer is the time to sit back and chill.”
