BYU’s Unga to go supplemental NFL route

A month ago, it was learned that Harvey Unga would not be eligible to return to the BYU football program until at least January after voluntarily withdrew from school for violating the institution’s honor code.

It was assumed but never confirmed that Unga had played his final game for the Cougars and would opt to make himself available for the NFL’s supplemental draft. According to our redheaded stepsister site, that is indeed the case.

Per PFT, and citing a league source, Unga will be a part of the pool of players for the July draft, thus ending a quietly terrific career at BYU.

Unga will leave the Provo school as their all-time leading rusher with 3,455 yards.
