Colorado’s Mike MacIntyre fined $10K for ‘completely unacceptable’ postgame conduct

Iowa State athletic director Jamie Pollard won’t be the only university official cutting a check containing three zeros to his conference in the coming days.

In a press release sent out Tuesday, the Pac-12 announced that Colorado’s Mike MacIntyre has been publicly reprimanded and fined $10,000 for what the conference described as “his inappropriate conduct towards the officiating crew at the conclusion of Colorado’s game with Oregon State” Saturday. MacIntyre was seen chasing down a portion of the officiating crew following the 36-31 loss to the Beavers, screaming in their general direction over what he viewed to be questionable calls made during the course of the game.

The release added that the proceeds of the fine will go towards the Pac-12 student-athlete scholarship fund.

“The public postgame conduct by Colorado head football coach Mike MacIntyre was completely unacceptable,” said commissioner Larry Scott in a statement. “Such misconduct violates Conference policy and this behavior will not be tolerated.”

“The Conference assigns a high priority for administrators, coaches and student-athletes to support its officiating program. Chasing and confronting an official or officiating crew after the contest fails to meet these high standards.”

MacIntyre was asked about the kerfuffle in his postgame press conference, but cited conference policy in declining to discuss the officials.
