Some runners train years just to qualify for the Boston Marathon. Dan Mullen has been doing the same over the past year for the first race of his life.
The head coach of the Mississippi State Bulldogs is heading up to Boston to run in the annual race. Mullen will be running the long-distance race for the first time in an effort to raise money for his charity, the Mullen Family Foundation. The foundation supports the youth of Mississippi. The coach is accepting pledges to support his run and hopes to reach his goal in time for the start of the marathon.
MSU's Dan Mullen says he's running Boston Marathon in April. Hopes to break 4 hours. It's his 1st race of any kind - much less a marathon.

Mullen said, MSU fans can donate and track him. Said Ole Miss fans can do the same and cheer the pain on his face at miles 21-26.
