Not surprisingly, Ohio State’s defense is losing yet another key component.
A couple of days after All-American Joey Bosa announced his intentions, teammate Darron Lee has done the same, announcing via Twitter that will forego his remaining eligibility and make himself available for the 2016 NFL draft. Lee, a redshirt sophomore linebacker , actually has two seasons of eligibility remaining that he’s decided to leave on the table in beginning his professional career early.
Lee started all 28 games the past two seasons after taking a redshirt his true freshman season in 2013.
In 2015, Lee finished with 66 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks. Those totals came one year after he was credited with 16.5 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks.
In his last game as a Buckeye, Lee totaled seven tackles and two sacks in OSU’s Fiesta Bowl win over Notre Dame Friday.
