Whatever question you throw at Florida State, it seems they have an answer. This week’s question was how well they would come back after that dominating win a week ago at Clemson in the ACC’s game of the year. Florida State returned home to play a team that has served up a handful of upsets to the Seminoles over the years, but it appears Florida State will not have any of that this weekend. Florida State took a 42-0 lead in the first quarter.
Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston has already thrown for 277 yards and three touchdowns, adding to his Heisman campaign in a big way.
North Carolina looked to be running in to a brick wall this weekend, and that has been the case from the start. The Wolfpack opened the game with the football but quarterback Brandon Mitchell tossed up a lob pass that was picked off by Florida State’s Terrence Brooks on the second play of the game. Three pass completions from Winston and an 18-yard run by Karlos Williams later and Florida State had the lead and was off and running.
Florida State slowed down in the second quarter but should be in absolutely no danger of letting one get away from them this weekend. The second half should see a good number of back-ups at some point, but now what the BCS standings are in play, some extra style points are never going to be a bad thing for the Seminoles.
