Larry Scott appeared to do himself some good by helping Miami steer clear of a complete mess of a season following an in-season firing of Al Golden. It appears that effort has led to a new job opportunity.
Scott will join the coaching staff at Tennessee to serve as a tight ends coach under Butch Jones, Bruce Feldman of FOX Sports reports. This, of course, is a position Scott is quite familiar with. Scott was added to the Miami coaching staff in 2013 to serve as a tight ends coach, which is also a position he held at South Florida before arriving in Miami.
Tennessee had a spot to fill at the position following the departure of Mark Elder. Elder left the Tennessee staff to become the new head coach at Eastern Kentucky. Now the Vols add a coach who has extensive history working with tight ends and even has some head coaching experience under his belt.
Scott will get a chance to work with Ethan Wolf, who was Tennessee’s fourth-leading receiver in 2015 with 23 receptions for 301 yards and two touchdowns.
