After a season away, Adonis Thomas is headed back to the FBS level, and at another Power Five program no less.
In a Twitter posting early Friday afternoon, Thomas indicated that he will be continuing his collegiate playing career at Florida State. Thomas’ high school coach subsequently confirmed to Warchant.com that the linebacker “has already signed his LOI to FSU.”
It’s expected Thomas will enroll at the university in January and participate in spring practice. As he’s coming from the junior college level, he’ll be eligible to play for the Seminoles in 2017.Special thanks to Coach Fisher and Coach Kelly for giving me the opportunity to become a part of the family!

In early July, it was reported that Thomas would be transferring from Alabama. He spent the 2016 season at Northwest Mississippi Community College, and had considered Kentucky, Ole Miss and Mississippi State before landing at FSU.
A four-star member of the Tide’s 2015 recruiting class, Thomas was rated as the No. 11 outside linebacker in the country and the No. 19 player at any position in the state of Georgia. Thomas took a redshirt for his true freshman season. He’ll have three years of eligibility remaining in Tallahassee.
