Finally, some closure to college football’s most pressing offseason story.
Via the Athens Banner-Herald, Georgia kicker Marshall Morgan has pleaded guilty to a pair of misdemeanor charges stemming from his arrest earlier this summer for boating under the influence. He receives 12 months probation, 240 hours of community service and a fine of $1,456.
According to a previous report, helicopter surveillance of Lake Sinclair spotted “an individual operating a watercraft towing two inner tubes without a spotter, which is a violation of Georgia boating regulations.” The 19-year-old Morgan admitted to drinking and submitted to a field sobriety test. In addition to the drunk-boating charge, Morgan was charged with towing a skier without an observer onboard.
Last year as a freshman, Morgan connected on eight-of-14 field goal attempts and 63-of-67 extra points. Bulldogs coach Mark Richt has still not formally announced any punishment or suspension for Morgan.
