Once again, injuries have led to the truncated career of a college football player.
Following Monday’s practice, Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney revealed that offensive lineman Zach Riggs will be forced to retire from football due to multiple injuries that have occurred during his playing days. Riggs had been expected to compete for playing time in the Tigers’ line rotation.
Riggs, the son of former Clemson All-ACC tight end Jim Riggs, played in three games during Clemson’s run to the national championship game. Injuries helped to limit Rigs to just five games in his career.
Originally a tight end like his father, Riggs moved to center in 2014.
