Jordan Wynn out 2-3 weeks with shoulder injury

Utah’s first season in the Pac-12 has not gone overly well, as the Utes have an 0-2 conference record dropping a game at home to Washington in Week 5 31-14.

Now, they’ll have to spend the next few weeks -- at least -- without quarterback Jordan Wynn, who suffered an injury to his non-throwing shoulder in the loss. The school’s official statement says Wynn will be held out 2-3 weeks, at which point he will be re-evaluated to see if he can come back any sooner.

Until then, junior Jon Hays will take over Utah’s offense. It won’t be an easy task, either. Utah hosts Arizona State before heading on the road to Pittsburgh and Cal in consecutive weeks. Hays’ only previous playing time this season was in garbage time in a win against BYU and in last week’s game against Washington.

Wynn had previously had surgery on his throwing shoulder late last year and missed all of spring practice.
