Friday, Sean Callahan of HuskersIllustrated.com tweeted that Ted Gilmore “is a serious candidate to land at USC” as Lane Kiffin’s wide receivers coach.
A day later, it appears that’s on the verge of officially coming to fruition.
According to a tweet from Tom Dienhart of Rivals.com, and citing a USC source, “the Trojans will hire Ted Gilmore as WR coach.” Obviously, there’s been no official confirmation yet, although, now that the news has apparently been broken, that may be expected to happen at some point this weekend or early next week.
Gilmore had spent the past six seasons as wide receivers coach at Nebraska, and the last four with the additional title of recruiting coordinator.
He also has somewhat of a past with Kiffin as the then-Oakland Raiders head coach attempted to hire him for his NFL staff.
