KIRK FERENTZ’S SON BUSTED FOR ALCOHOL OFFENSE... AGAIN

For the second time in less than a year, the son of Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz has been charged with an alcohol-related offense.According to the Cedar Rapids Gazette, Iowa offensive lineman James Ferentz, along with two other Iowa players -- fullback Tyler Christensen and tight end Zach Derby -- were cited early this morning for public intoxication by the University of Iowa Department of Public Safety. All three players have been indefinitely suspended by the university.Needless to say, the elder Ferentz was not pleased with the actions of any of the three players."It was very disappointing to learn of the behavior of our three players last night,” Ferentz said in a statement. “Short term, all three will be suspended for the remainder of spring practice and they will be expected to fulfill significant community service obligations the next several weekends."Additional action will be determined at a later point and return to the team will be based on additional criteria.”James Ferentz was cited last October for underage consumption of alcohol; he pleaded guilty and was suspended from the team.
