Once one of the key recruits to the reclamation of the Miami Hurricanes, Robert Marve left Miami after butting heads and failing to fall in line with head coach Randy Shannon. After redshirting his freshman season, Marve completed only 54 percent of his passes and threw 13 interceptions to go along with only 9 touchdown passes. The season also included two suspensions, one that kept him out of the ‘Canes bowl collapse against Cal.After announcing his intent to transfer, and after fighting with “The U” to lift some of the restrictions that it had in place for his new school, apparently Marve is having his feelings hurt by the number of schools who don’t want an arrogant quarterback with discipline problems to transfer into their program.Add Oklahoma State to that list. After allegedly receiving negative feedback from Miami coaches, Mike Gundy and the Cowboys stopped recruiting Marve. “Robert was very hurt,” Eugene Marve, Robert’s dad, told the Miami Herald. While the elder Marve said that his son will chose between Michigan, UCLA, Oklahoma, Purdue, Texas Tech, and USF, this is the second high profile Big 12 school to have no interest in Marve, after reports surfaced that the Oklahoma Sooners wanted nothing to do with Marve as well. This has to be a cold blast of reality for the former prep Mr. Football in Florida, and hopefully something that helps get his head screwed back on straight.
