Michigan State upset with Ohio State about game footage

It wouldn’t be a Big Ten story without a little Urban Meyer/Ohio State drama now, would it?

Following Ohio State’s 17-16 win over Michigan State, Spartans defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi confirmed to the Detroit Free Press that MSU had planned to file a complaint to the Big Ten claiming OSU cut off pre-snap motions and shifts from game film sent to MSU.

“We had tape cut off all week, where they changed the tape, I’m not gonna lie to you,” Narduzzi (pictured) said. “They send you tape and they’ve got it all cut off and you don’t get to see shifts or motions or anything else.

“A few other teams we talked to that they played, and we compared what they were looking at on tape to what we were looking at. We’re like ‘We don’t see any of that. We see it on their tape but not on our tape.’ So that’s something I’m sure the Big Ten office will hopefully take care of.”

However, the paper reported a short time later that athletic directors Mark Hollis and Gene Smith had settled the issue without having to get the Big Ten involved.

Big Ten teams are required to provide self-shot game film to each other before they face off. Michigan State also received film from OSU’s first four opponents.

When asked about the complaint in his post-game news conference, Meyer said “I don’t know anything about that. I don’t handle the video.”
