Mizzou Board of Curators set meeting for Thursday

Missouri’s Board of Curators have called a public meeting for this Thursday, Dave Matter of the Columbia Daily Tribune is reporting.

It is the fourth Big 12 meeting to be held or to have been held this week. Texas and Oklahoma held Board of Regents meetings Monday to discuss matters related to conference realignment; Oklahoma State has a BOR meeting scheduled for tomorrow to discuss the same matters.

However, it is expected that athletics/conference realignment will only be a portion of what is discussed during the meeting.

The primary purpose of the meeting is not related to athletics. However, since the whole board is meeting anyway, the curators do expect to receive an update on the Big 12 Conference,” said spokesperson Jennifer Hollingshead. “There will be no action taken (related to athletics) and there is no statement planned at this time.”

Reports surfaced earlier today that Missouri had a super secret invite from the SEC in case the Big 12 dissolved. The SEC has since denied any such informal invite.

As JT touched on earlier, the Big 12 does have a fighting chance at survival -- again -- provided certain conditions are met that reportedly satisfy Oklahoma’s requests.
