More alleged details surface in Ka’Deem Carey incident

Earlier this week, a weird story broke that Arizona running back Ka’Deem Carey was served with an order of protection stemming from an incident that occurred just two days before Christmas. At the time, the details of what happened weren’t clear.

Consider that partially changed. Per one report, those alleged details are none too pretty and could result in domestic violence charges.

According to Tucson police, Carey was trying to get into his pregnant ex-girlfriend’s house to get a lighter to smoke drugs. She wouldn’t let him inside so he allegedly pushed the woman down and then slammed the door on her hand.

In response, Carey tried to get a restraining order against the 23-year-old ex-girlfriend and her mother, but that request was denied.

Carey will be officially charged in court at a hearing this week.

Wildcats coach Rich Rodriguez and athletic director Greg Byrne have already issued statements on the matter. “Once more specific information is available, we will act accordingly,” Rodriguez said.

Carey led the nation in total rushing yards (1,923) and yards per game (148.4) in 2012 as a sophomore, earning AP All-American status.
