Nearly six months after being suspended, West Virginia wide receiver Jock Sanders has been reinstated to the team, the Charleston Daily Mail is reporting.
During a motion hearing on his DUI charges, the lawyer for Sanders told the presiding judge that his client was once again a member of the West Virginia football program.
Last month, head coach Bill Stewart said Sanders was allowed to work out with the team, but wouldn’t be fully reinstated until he fulfilled “a number of off-field expectations.”
Sanders was arrested on multiple DUI-related charges in February, and was immediately suspended from the team. In a plea agreement, four of the charges were dropped, provided Sanders completes a series of requirements. Those requirements include an alcohol awareness course, talking to students about the dangers of drinking and driving, and have a lock installed on his vehicle’s ignition for a set period of time.
Last season, Sanders led the Mountaineers with 53 receptions.
