In a somewhat surprising turn of events, Iowa junior cornerback Amari Spievey has decided to forego another collegiate go-around and instead enter the 2010 NFL draft.
Spievey was one of the top corners in the Big Ten the last two seasons, and was widely considered to be at least slightly leaning toward a return to Iowa City for another year.
That, however, won’t be the case.
“My time at the University of Iowa has been great and the opportunity Coach [Kirk] Ferentz and defensive coordinator Norm Parker have given me has been tremendous,” Spievey said in a statement according to ESPN.com. “Even though I love being a Hawkeye, moving on to the NFL is in my best interest.”
What’s that, you ask? Where’s the link for the underclassmen draft tracker? Right HERE, of course.
