Three months of rehabilitation is not going to be quite enough time for Victor Anderson as the Louisville running back will be held out of all contact drills this spring.
Anderson underwent surgery late last November to repair a separated shoulder, but the injury has apparently not healed enough for the Cardinals to be anything but cautious with the 2008 Big East Freshman of the Year.
“We’re going to try as best we can to help him learn,” offensive coordinator Mike Sanford told Brian Bennett of ESPN.com‘s Big East blog, “but we’ve got to be careful there.”
Anderson’s injury-riddled 2009 campaign limited the junior-to-be to just 473 yards rushing. In 2008, Anderson rushed for 1,047 yards (5.7 YPC) and eight touchdowns.
