One more visit, then transfer decision for ex-OU QB Drew Allen

To where that visit will be, though, remains to be seen.

In the middle of last month, a report surfaced that former Oklahoma quarterback Drew Allen would be visiting three FBS programs -- Arkansas State, Maryland and Syracuse -- although no time frame for the visits were given. According to ESPN.com‘s Joe Schad, one of those trips has taken place as Allen traveled to the Orange recently and met with the staff.

Per Schad, Allen will visit one more football program this week, although a specific name was not given. Subsequent to the report linking Allen to the aforementioned schools, a source denied the Terps were interested in the player.

Whether that means Arkansas State will be in line for a visit or another “mystery” team is involved in the chase remains to be seen. Allen, Schad writes, hopes to finalize his decision as early as next week.

A three-star member of OU’s 2009 recruiting class, the 6-5, 226-pound Allen was rated by Rivals.comas the No. 15 pro-style quarterback in the country. He attempted just 30 passes during his time in Norman, with none of those coming during the 2012 season. In late january, Allen was granted a release from his OU scholarship.

As Allen will graduate from OU in May, the San Antonio product will be eligible to play immediately at an FBS school, provided he enrolls in a grad program not offered at his previous school.
