Following a decent, yet oft-injured career at Oregon State, wide receiver Jordan Bishop has decided to hang up the cleats for good, the school announced in a press release Thursday evening.
Bishop, a two-sport athlete in football and track, has been dealing with lingering injuries with his ankles and feet. He would have had one year of eligibility remaining and was listed atop the post-spring depth chart at slotback.
“It’s disappointing that Jordan will not be able to play his senior season,” coach Mike Riley said in a prepared statement. “He has been a tremendous team member and will always be a part of Beaver Nation. I wish him the best in what will be surely a successful professional career of his choosing.”
Bishop (pictured, No. 23) was productive during the three years in which he lettered in football with OSU. He concludes his 34-game career, in which he had 12 starts, with 66 receptions for 893 yards and four touchdowns. He will graduate this summer.
The school also announced the departures of the following players: receivers Geno Munoz and Tyler Trosin; corner Keynan Parker; quarterback Jack Lomax; and linebackers Cade Cowdin, Zeke Sanders, and Will Storey.
