A little over a month after leaving his first college football home, Ryan Finley has reportedly found his second one.
Citing a source familiar with the situation, the Idaho Press-Tribune is reporting that Finley has enrolled at North Carolina State and will continue his collegiate playing career with the Wolfpack. The quarterback had announced in the middle of last month that he would be transferring from Boise State.
NCSU’s new offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach is Eliah Drinkwitz, who held the same jobs with the Broncos last season before moving to the Wolfpack in January of this year.
Finley is a graduate transfer who will be eligible to play for the Wolfpack in 2016 -- and two more seasons after that, apparently. "[Finley] will be listed as a redshirt junior for N.C. State this fall, but is eligible for a medical redshirt - meaning he still has three seasons of eligibility,” the Press-Tribune wrote.
Finley started the first three games last season before suffering a broken ankle and losing the job he won in the summer to Freshman All-American Brett Rypien, with the latter further solidifying his hold on the position this spring.
