The coaching carousel is wrapping up in the college football world. The NFL is a different story.
Two days ago, Oregon coach Chip Kelly officially took the Philadelphia Eagles job after four years with the Ducks. A day later, it was reported that former Arkansas and Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt was getting a glance by an NFL club too, but in an assistant role.
ESPN Dallas reports that Nutt met with the Dallas Cowboys about possibly joining the coaching staff. In what capacity Nutt would come aboard -- if he comes aboard -- is unclear, although running backs coach Skip Peete was fired recently. Nutt has a connection to Cowboys owner Jerry Jones through Arkansas.
Nutt has been out of the coaching ranks for a year after being fired by Ole Miss following a two-win season in 2011. He does not have any NFL experience, which could prove problematic if Nutt attempts to draft 37 players in April.
