Rodney Peete had a solid career as USC’s quarterback, leading the Trojans to a couple of Rose Bowls and finishing second to Barry Sanders in the 1988 Heisman Trophy balloting. He then had a reasonably successful NFL career, never coming close to achieving stardom, but sticking around for 16 seasons and starting at times for the Lions, Cowboys, Eagles and Panthers. But his post-football career is just plain weird. Peete is selling DVDs called Trojans Baby that are, I guess, supposed to help babies learn the alphabet while simultaneously turning them into USC fans.“Trojans® BABY combines all the great things you love about USC, with all the things you want your lil’toddler to learn – numbers, letters, colors and more,” the Trojans Baby web site says.Apparently these DVDs are supposed to be a “marriage of SportsCenter and Baby Einstein.” That sounds to me like a marriage headed for a divorce.
