How about a little levity in the hour or so before the NCAA brings the hammer and woodsheds Penn State?
In a press release that read “Breaking News: Senior QB Seth Doege has the most mispronounced name among Division 1 quarterbacks,” Texas Tech included a video titled “How to Doege” which attempts to teach us the proper pronunciation of Doege -- it’s DAY-gee, incidentally.
As we have been forever scarred by some tremendously horrendous college football videos in recent years -- including one from a school in the same state -- it was with much fear and trepidation that we clicked play on the YouTube clip. To our surprise, it, well, wasn’t half bad. In fact, it was pretty good.
Featuring “cameos” from the likes of President Obama and his Republican challenger Mitt Romney, along with actors Will Ferrell, John Travolta, Robert Downey Jr. and Mark Wahlberg, the school does an excellent job in promoting its under-the-radar quarterback.
