There’s some bad news for Iowa State. Cyclones linebacker Jake Knott is done for the regular season because of required shoulder surgery, Paul Rhoads said Monday.
There is a possibility that Knott could return in time for a bowl game.
Rhoads would not elaborate on the injury, only saying that Knott is undergoing surgery today. Apparently, Knott’s been playing with the injury since a loss earlier this month to Oklahoma State. Knott needed offseason surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder that kept him out of spring practice.
Knott, a senior, not only led the Cyclones with 79 tackles, he led the Big 12. He also has six tackles for loss, two interceptions and two forced fumbles.
