On second thought, never mind.
In early February, Tate Forcier announced that he would be transferring from Michigan to Miami, saying that he “really want[s] to be a part of the rebirth at Miami.”
Three months and one veteran quarterback addition later, Forcier’s reportedly had a change of heart regarding the whole birthing process. A source close to the situation has told ESPN.com‘s Heather Dinich that Forcier has decided against a transfer to the Hurricanes due to what’s being called “personal reasons”, which seems to be an odd way of describing ex-Memphis QB Ryan Williams.
It was reported last week that Williams, who was the Tigers’ starter in 2010, would play for the ‘Canes in 2012 after sitting out his transfer year this season.
Miami announced on Feb. 9 that “Forcier has signed an Aid Agreement and will transfer to the University of Miami.” Forcier’s decision to “leave” the school leaves Miami with two scholarship QBs for the 2012 season -- Williams and Stephen Morris, who will resume his battle with Jacory Harris for the starting job once summer camp commences.
As for Forcier’s future at the collegiate level? Prior to his decision to go to Miami, the QB had been linked to such schools as Washington, San Diego State, Baylor, New Mexico and Middle Tennessee State. He and his family had also visited Div. 1-AA Montana.
It’s unclear if those locales would still be under consideration, or if this soap opera will continue elsewhere.
