Lane Kiffin received his second major quarterbacking commitment of the offseason, and this one’s actually in high school.
Blue-chip prospect Max Wittek committed to Kiffin and Southern Cal this morning, following Matt Barkley and Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Matt Leinart from Orange County powerhouse Mater Dei High School.
“I talked with my dad and my mom about it,” Wittek told ESPNLosAngeles.com. “It felt like the right fit. I always look for things on my checklist that I want in a school and in my mind it always came back to USC.”
Wittek had offers from just about every major program in the country, counting Florida, Florida State, Notre Dame, and UCLA among them. Wittek completed 136 of 230 passes last season for 2,126 yards with 15 touchdowns against 9 interceptions.
